Guardians of the Glen Story
Part 1
In the shadows of forest greenery, a careful hand parts
the fern fronds to peer out unto the sun dappled path. Her name is
Materfae and she is the trail watcher. There is an extensive trail system
through the glen that need monitoring. On this day, she's joined by
Stellaluma , the master tracker. The two are looking for a group of lower
faeries on there way to an opening of grassy space within the glen. It's
well known the flower faeries seek out these spaces because they love to glimmer
in the sun where the prettiest flowers grow.
From time to time, trespassers in the glen are curious of The Magical Glen and
enter to catch a glimpse of the faeries within. From imps to ogres, it is
the protector's duty to keep the other glen faeries safe. Guardians are
selfless, loyal, and smart. They possess the strength and beauty embodying
all the things people strive to be. Often you will find faeries guided
thru parts of The Magical Glen by Whispersym and her mighty shield. But on
this day, Whispersym was helping another faerie at the shoreline and was too
fairy away to shield the flower faeries.
Proud Terrareve, the young princess of the Guardians, surveys the land from an
outcropping of the high cliff, highest point of the glen. She's given the
orders to find the meandering faerie group and have Whispersym guide them to the
clearing without incident. After consulting with Verushimmer, the wise
teacher and protector of the magic, she concluded to move ahead and change the
direction the faeries are traveling. She was alerted to the minor problem
with the humans spying around the tall oak tree. Many are in the pursuit
of seeing or catching faeries. A faerie being caught should never happen.
Cauradream has indeed seen the bank of faeries on the north
side, heading toward the tall oak tree from a treetop perch. It is greatly
understood that she has extensive knowledge of the upper branches and tree
trails. Nimble and quick she navigates the leafy, bark lined trunks in an
effort to keep up with the group.
Terrareve sends the wise bluebird to fly on and get word on the progress made in
reaching the faeries. The bluebird flies just above the treetops, skimming
along the green as a faerie calls to her. She circles down, back wings
gently, and lands next to Cauradream. Cauradream whispers to the bluebird
the group location and sends it on its way to tell Stellaluma and Materfae what
trails to travel.
Converging on the trail crossing, Materfae, Stellaluma, and
the returning Whispersym from the shoreline, receive the news from the messenger
bluebird. Just then they hear someone coming...and take cover for the
element of disguise. Careful steps and soft voices in singing tone come
loser to reveal flower faeries entering the trail crossing. The Guardians,
overjoyed that the faeries are okay, come out of the brush by the trailside.
Cauradream comes down from the upper branches and joins the group. They
carry on and continue with the plan to take the alterative route to the
clearing. This time they know that they will be safe from meddling faerie
seekers. Notified that everything with the group is in smooth operation,
Terrareve and Verushimmer discuss plans as they set out on the next excursion
that needs attention.
Highly regarded with respect in the faerie community,
Guardians are welcomed wherever they go because of their quite strength, and big
hearts. Guardians know these tasks can be difficult. The Glen is big
and teeming with magic faeries and mythical creatures that need a little careful
watching and protection from these wise Guardians of the Glen.
